Was my Dr. Reddy's semaglutide pen recalled?
Possibly. In August 2026 Health Canada announced two recalls of Dr. Reddy's generic semaglutide, covering 8 lot numbers, mostly for an impurity above specification. Check the DIN and lot number on your box against the list on this page. Health Canada says to talk to your healthcare provider before you stop.
Which lots were recalled?
Eight lots of Dr. Reddy's Semaglutide Injection were recalled on 27 August 2026 because "an impurity is out of specification".1
| DIN on the box | Lot numbers | Problem |
|---|---|---|
| 02567806 | 7000544, 7000545, 7000546 | Impurity out of specification (27 Aug 2026) |
| 02567814 | 7000542, 7000543, 7000624, 7000628, 7000629 | Impurity out of specification (27 Aug 2026) |

In the 12 August recall, a box labelled as a 2 mg pen held a 4 mg pen.2 Both recalls are Type II and reach retail pharmacies.1 The DIN and lot number are printed on the box. If the numbers don't match the table, your pen isn't in these recalls. If you're unsure, your pharmacist can check the lot for you.
What should you do if your pen is on the list?
Don't just stop: Health Canada says to "consult your healthcare provider prior to discontinuing use of the affected product".1
It also says to check whether your product is affected, contact the recalling company with questions, and report any side effects.1 Ask your pharmacy about a replacement pen, and keep the box, since it shows the DIN and lot. If you may have injected more than prescribed, call a poison centre on 1-844-POISON-X (1-844-764-7669).3 Reporting is explained in How do I report a side effect in Canada?
Were other generics recalled?
Yes, one Apo-Semaglutide lot, 7000599A, on 27 August 2026, because the pen could give 2 mg instead of 0.25 or 0.5 mg.4
Dr. Reddy's also reported a shortage from a manufacturing problem on 10 July 2026, so Alberta postponed its switch to generic pricing for these products.5 New recalls are posted on recalls-rappels.canada.ca, which offers email alerts.1 We list the notices we found up to 12 October 2026.
