GLP‑1 dose schedule and missed‑dose helper

See the dose steps in your medicine's UK label as dates from your start day, or check what the label and patient leaflet say about a missed dose. Foundayo, Mounjaro, Ozempic, Rybelsus, Saxenda and Wegovy.

Nothing you enter leaves your device Every rule cites its label section
This shows the label's schedule. It doesn't replace the label or your prescriber. Your prescriber may go slower or keep you on a dose. Never start, stop or change a dose without talking to them. Follow the instructions on your own prescription.Information only, not a promotion. Every medicine named here is prescription-only. Only a GP can decide whether one is right for you and prescribe it. We don't recommend, rank or favour any medicine. Where we list several, they're in alphabetical order. We don't sell medicines or take money from drug companies.

The label's dose steps, as dates

Pick your medicine and the day of your first dose. You'll see each step in the label's schedule, and the earliest date the label allows each step-up.

How this works

Each medicine sold in the UK has a summary of product characteristics (SmPC), the official label approved for the UK and published on the electronic Medicines Compendium (emc), and a patient leaflet. Section 4.2 of the SmPC sets out the starting dose, how and when the dose goes up, and what to do about a missed dose. Section 3 of the leaflet says the same in plain words. This tool turns those sections into dates. The data for each medicine sits in one block on this page, with the section it came from.

Most GLP‑1 medicines start low and go up in steps, because side effects such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea are more common while the dose is rising.1,7 Each step lasts at least a set time: 4 weeks for the weekly injections, 1 month for Wegovy tablets and Rybelsus, 30 days for Foundayo and 1 week for Saxenda.

Some steps are fixed in the label. Others happen only if your prescriber decides you need them, for example better blood-sugar control on Ozempic or Rybelsus. The planner marks those with "only if your prescriber decides", and shows the earliest date the label would allow them. Steps of "1 month" use calendar months: from 14 October, the next month starts on 14 November.

What each UK label says about a missed dose

Quoted from section 4.2 of each UK SmPC and section 3 of the patient leaflet, checked 14 October 2026.

  • Foundayo“If a dose is missed, dosing should be resumed as soon as possible. More than one film-coated tablet should not be taken per day.”Foundayo UK label (SmPC), section 4.29
  • Mounjaro“If a dose is missed, it should be administered as soon as possible within 4 days after the missed dose. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and administer the next dose on the regularly scheduled day. In each case, patients can then resume their regular once weekly dosing schedule.”Mounjaro UK label (SmPC), section 4.24
  • Ozempic“If a dose is missed, it should be administered as soon as possible and within 5 days after the missed dose. If more than 5 days have passed, the missed dose should be skipped, and the next dose should be administered on the regularly scheduled day. In each case, patients can then resume their regular once weekly dosing schedule.”Ozempic UK label (SmPC), section 4.25
  • Rybelsus“If a dose is missed, the missed dose should be skipped and the next dose should be taken the following day.”Rybelsus UK labels (SmPC), section 4.2, for both the 1.5, 4 and 9 mg and the 3, 7 and 14 mg tablets6,7
  • Saxenda“If a dose is missed within 12 hours from when it is usually taken, the patient should take the dose as soon as possible. If there is less than 12 hours to the next dose, the patient should not take the missed dose and resume the once-daily regimen with the next scheduled dose. An extra dose or increase in dose should not be taken to make up for the missed dose.”Saxenda UK label (SmPC), section 4.28
  • Wegovy pen“If a dose is missed, it should be administered as soon as possible and within 5 days after the missed dose. If more than 5 days have passed, the missed dose should be skipped, and the next dose should be administered on the regularly scheduled day. In each case, patients can then resume their regular once weekly dosing schedule. If more doses are missed, reducing the starting dose for re-initiation should be considered.”Wegovy UK label (SmPC), section 4.2; the same words in the 7.2 mg pen's SmPC1,2
  • Wegovy tablets“If a dose is missed, the missed dose should be skipped, and the next dose should be taken the following day.”Wegovy tablets UK label (SmPC), section 4.23

What this can't tell you

  • The right dose for you, or when you should move up. Your prescriber decides that, and may go slower than the label or keep you on a dose.
  • What to do if you've switched medicines (for example from Wegovy injections to tablets), or take other medicines that change the dose. Foundayo, for example, has a lower top dose with some other medicines.9
  • Anything for children and teenagers. The schedules shown are the adult ones.
  • Whether a symptom is serious. If you have severe stomach pain that won't go away, with or without vomiting, get medical help. In an emergency, call 999. If you're not sure, call NHS 111 (in Northern Ireland, your GP surgery's out-of-hours line).

Questions people ask

I missed my Wegovy injection. What does the UK label say?

If it's 5 days or less since the dose was due, take it as soon as you remember, then take the next dose on your usual day. If more than 5 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your usual day. Don't take a double dose. If more doses are missed, the label says a lower starting dose should be considered when restarting, so contact your prescriber before your next dose.1

I missed my Mounjaro dose. How long do I have?

4 days. The UK label says to take the missed dose as soon as possible within 4 days after it was due. If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your usual day. There must be at least 3 days between two doses.4

I missed my Ozempic dose. How long do I have?

5 days. The UK label says to take it as soon as possible within 5 days after the missed dose. If more than 5 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your usual day.5

What if I miss a Saxenda dose?

If you remember within 12 hours of when you usually inject it, inject it as soon as you remember. If more than 12 hours have passed, skip it and inject your next dose the following day at the usual time. Don't take a double dose or increase the dose to make up for it.8

What if I miss a Wegovy tablet, Rybelsus or Foundayo?

For Wegovy tablets and Rybelsus, the UK labels say to skip the missed dose and take your normal dose the next day. For Foundayo, take it as soon as you remember. With all three, take no more than one tablet a day.3,6,9

Do I have to move up a dose on the dates shown?

No. The dates are the label's schedule: the earliest each step is allowed. Your prescriber may go slower, keep you on a dose, or choose a lower maintenance dose, and some steps happen only if your prescriber decides. Never change your dose without talking to them.

Is anything I enter saved or sent?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored, and the calendar file is made on your device.
