GLP‑1 medicines and prices in the US

Every GLP‑1 medicine sold in the US, at every dose: the price of a pack, and what that comes to a month and a year.

Two kinds of official price, side by side. The self-pay price is what the maker charges when you buy directly from Novo Nordisk or Lilly without insurance.1,2 The list price (wholesale acquisition cost) is the starting price before insurer rebates.3,4 Where a maker also runs a time-limited or conditional offer, we show the regular price. We never use coupons, savings cards or telehealth prices. With insurance or Medicare you pay your plan's copay instead.

Before you go further. These medicines need a prescription from a prescriber licensed in your state.5 Compounded versions are not FDA-approved.6 They have real risks: read Side effects and risks first. A lower price doesn't make a medicine right for you.

Teva hasn't published its price. A Teva spokesperson told Fierce Pharma the list price (wholesale acquisition cost) is $1,165 for a month at 3 mg (news report, August 2025). Lower doses use less of a pen, so we price them by the milligram.11

Novo Nordisk's list price is $1,349.02 for 5 pens of 18 mg, a month at 3 mg a day. Lower doses use less of a pen, so we price them by the milligram: 0.6 mg a day is a fifth of that.14

Per month and per year, as in our cost calculator. Weekly medicines come as a fill of 4 doses every 28 days, so a year is 52 doses or 13 fills, and a month is a twelfth of that: a little more than one fill. Daily tablets and pens come as a 30-day supply, so a month is one fill and a year is 12 fills. List prices are shown at today's figure; where Novo Nordisk has announced a cut from January 1, 2027, the row says so.23 Rounded to the nearest dollar.

How we get these prices

Makers' regular self-pay prices and list prices (wholesale acquisition cost, from the maker or TrumpRx.gov) only. Never a coupon, savings card, conditional, telehealth or seller price. A dose with no official price is null and shown as 'Not published'. One exception, labelled: Teva's generic Saxenda list price comes from a named news report because Teva hasn't published it.

How much is Wegovy without insurance?

Novo Nordisk's regular self-pay price for the Wegovy pen is $349 at every dose for a fill of 4 weekly doses: about $4,537 a year (13 fills).1 Wegovy HD (7.2 mg) is $399.1 The Wegovy pill is $149 at 1.5 mg, $199 at 4 mg and $299 at 9 and 25 mg for 30 tablets.1 The list price, before insurer rebates, is $1,349.02 for 4 pens.3

How much is Zepbound without insurance?

Lilly's regular self-pay price for the Zepbound KwikPen is $299 at 2.5 mg, $399 at 5 mg, $499 at 7.5 mg and $699 at 10, 12.5 and 15 mg for a fill of 4 weekly doses: about $3,887–$9,087 a year (13 fills).2 The vial has the same regular prices.2 The single-dose pen has no self-pay price: Lilly sells it through insurance only.33

What will I pay with insurance or Medicare?

With insurance, your plan's copay, if your plan covers the medicine; for weight loss that usually needs prior authorization first.35 On Medicare, the GLP‑1 Bridge charges $50 a fill for Foundayo, Wegovy pen, Wegovy pill or Zepbound KwikPen, from Jul 1, 2026 to Dec 31, 2027, if you meet its criteria.36 See our insurance pages for the routes.

Which of these medicines are for type 2 diabetes only?

Trulicity, Liraglutide (generic Victoza), Victoza, Ozempic pen, Ozempic pill, Rybelsus and Mounjaro are approved in the US for type 2 diabetes only, and the table labels them "Type 2 diabetes only".7,12,20,24,28 Some contain the same medicine as a brand approved for weight (Ozempic and Wegovy are both semaglutide), but the approved uses, doses and price differ.

Why is a year 13 fills and not 12?

Weekly medicines come as a fill of 4 doses, which lasts 28 days. A year is 52 weeks, so it takes 13 fills, and a month (a twelfth of the year) costs a little more than one fill. Daily tablets and pens come as a 30-day supply: 12 fills a year. This is how our cost calculator counts.

Why don't you show the cheapest price or pharmacy prices?

We show the makers' regular self-pay prices and list prices only. Sellers' prices change often and differ from shop to shop, and listing them would turn a guide into a shopping list. That's why the table is grouped by medicine, never sorted by price, and names no pharmacy, clinic or online seller. How we show prices.
